Activities, attractions, and things to do in Alexandra

Enjoy the Alexandra Blossom Festival in September, a community festival celebrating the arrival of spring after a Central Otago winter. Features a parade of beautifully decorated floats and other entertainment, which is attended by both locals and visitors from far and wide.

Central Otago Rail Trail, once a busy railway line connecting Clyde to Middlemarch, is now a scenic, secluded trail spanning 150km, it's a great way to see Central Otago – we are only 250m from the Central Otago Rail Trail.

The park has a family fun day every 2nd year on New Years Eve (2024, 2026, 2028, etc). There is:

• 3 legged race
• Egg throw
• Tug of war
• Face painting
• Crazy hair do
• Colouring competition and much more

There is also the following to do:

• Alexandra Pool
• Outdoor ice rink
• Fishing for trout and salmon on the Clutha and Manuherikia rivers and dams
• Walk to the clock on the hill, enjoy the view
• Check out the historical shaky bridge
